Department of Athletics DePaul's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has provided DePaul with years of memories and countless heart-stopping moments for its student-athletes, alumni, fans and friends. The athletic department's success has played an important role in DePaul's growth as the nation's largest Catholic university. The department sponsors 15 NCAA Division I sports, including men's and women's: basketball, indoor and outdoor track & field, cross country, soccer and tennis. It also sponsors women's volleyball, softball and men's golf. DePaul has consistently developed top level student-athletes in and out of the classroom. Blue Demon athletics has built upon a foundation of success to develop a program that ranks among the best in the country. In 2003-04, DePaul advanced to NCAA competition in five sports and our student-athletes earned a cumulative grade point average of greater than 3.15. How can I help? Giving to DePaul athletics is both rewarding and flexible. Indeed, funding intercollegiate athletics is an investment in the lives of the student-athletes at DePaul. Intercollegiate athletic competition inspires greatness in our student-athletes, while building a sense of community for DePaul University as a whole. Donors are given the opportunity to make a gift to our capital campaign, to the department's general fund, to each of DePaul's individual sports or to our endowed scholarships. DePaul Athletic Fund Contributions to the DePaul Athletic Fund are unrestricted gifts to be used at the discretion of the DePaul Director of Athletics. DePaul Sports Contributions to individual sports provide supplemental funding for each of DePaul's athletic programs. Because of the generous support of the University, these funds are used to enhance the student-athlete experience at DePaul by covering costs that aren't part of the general operating budget. Scholarships Each year, a large part of the athletic budget is scholarship expenses. DePaul currently has a number of scholarship endowments which help defer that cost. Giving to one of these funds, or creating a new one, is a great way to invest in the future of DePaul athletics. Champions Club All gifts of more than $100 entitle donors to membership in DePaul Athletics' Champions Club. Membership benefits are determined according to the level of the gift. Among the benefits are invitations to departmental events, post-season ticket preference, athletic communications and much more.
