Scholarships

Of the 23,000 full-time students at DePaul, 79 percent of them have received some form of financial assistance, an increase of 15 percent within the last decade. More than 1,200 merit and need-based scholarships are offered to DePaul students annually for a total value of $2.5 million. The support of University scholarships is vital to the continued success of our students, and DePaul is grateful for the generosity of our donors.

Merit and Need-based Scholarships
Merit-based scholarships are based primarily on student's academic performance; in particular, grade point average and class ranking, as specified by the restrictions of the scholarship criteria. Other decisive factors may include extracurricular and community service activities. Need-based scholarships, on the other hand, are based on the financial need of potential recipients, who typically come from economically challenged backgrounds.
